Marldon Apple Pie Fair

Marldon Apple Pie Fair
A Marldon farmer, George Hill, used to take his apples to St Marychurch in panniers on a donkey in the 19th century. Later he became famous for making a big apple pie and paraded it around in a donkey cart before it was eaten.
Marldon Apple Pie day was revived in 1958 to raise funds for the village hall. It has a procession through the village led by a donkey cart and ends with festivities on the village field.

This traditional event has all the fun of the fair! Carnival procession, donkeys, craft marque, demonstrations, dogs shows, hog roast, beer tent, fair princess and much more.
