Stoke Gabriel May Fair

Stoke Gabriel May Fair

Stoke Gabriel May Fair celebrates the coming of summer with traditional May Pole dancing and the crowning of the May Queen and King, as well as family entertainment for young and old.

Stoke Gabriel May Fair will be held on Bank Holiday Monday, 3 May 2010. This popular annual village event will be held in picturesque Yarde Orchard in the centre of the village and starts at 2pm. Entrance is £1.50 for adults and just 50p for children.
Visitors will be entertained by Elfic the Jester, who will perform and then let everyone into the tricks of the Jester trade with his circus skills workshop. Children from Stoke Gabriel Primary School will be May Pole dancing throughout the afternoon, with an opportunity for everyone to get involved.

Traditional side shows and stalls, including giant skittles and welly wanging, will be alongside craft activities and the ever popular bouncy castle. No village Fair would be complete without local food and drinks, and Stoke Gabriel May Fair will not disappoint with cider and apple juice from the village’s orchards, homemade cakes and Devon cream teas.
