As the winter turns into spring, we start to see flowers blooming and more bright blue skies – a perfect time to enjoy outdoor activities and lovely coastal walks in sunny South Devon.
A beautiful and relaxing stay at our holiday park in Paignton is awaiting for you. Take a look at our top 5 hidden gems of the English Riviera below:
1. Elberry Cove
Close to Paignton, Elberry Cove is a small inlet with a small pebble beach. You can relax without being disturbed by noisy crowds or amusement arcades and is the designated beach for water skiing.
The beach can only be accessed on foot, so if you have the car with you, park at Broadsands and take a stroll along the coastal path. At one end of the beach you’ll find the remains of Lord Churston’s bathhouse, a romantic 18th century ruin.
This quaint bar and bistro have something for everyone with our fabulous cakes, great tapas selection, plenty of sandwiches, pasta, burgers, and a delicious array of breakfast options to enjoy while the sun rises over beautiful Babbacombe Bay.
Spring is a wonderful time to explore Coleton Fishacre garden. The winter rain has filled the steams so that they are babbling away, with dramatic waterfalls. The sound of running water can be heard throughout the garden.
From Easter, every day at 2pm the garden team will lead either a free walk around the garden or a 15 minute talk for you to join. They’ll be sharing the top spots to see the spring flowers, the work they’re doing and the history of the garden. The walk begins at the far end of the courtyard. Normal admission prices apply.
