End Of An Entertainment Era At Beverley Holidays
The retirement of the legendary Beverley team member was marked in true style at an event held at our Paignton-based holiday park attended by friends, family and fans alike.
Man of the moment Chris took to the Beverley stage for one last time along with other former entertainers from the holiday park’s past to mark the end of an extraordinary era.
Guests were treated to a trip down memory lane by friends and former work colleagues of Chris who travelled far and wide to pay homage to the long-standing Beverley entertainer.
The evening also saw members of Beverley’s popular Jubilee entertainment troupe reunite for an exclusive performance which was met with great applause from event-goers.
Chris Shannon said: “I’ve had the pleasure of working with some superb performers throughout my career and I have really enjoyed my time at Beverley Holidays.
“A special thanks goes to the Jeavons Family, and also to the original Jubilee band members Derek, Donna, Megamix Mike, Ashley Williams and Derry – it’s been a blast!”
Chris who retires from Beverley Holidays at the end of this season joined the family run holiday in 1983 as a drummer and quickly became one of its most-loved entertainers.
As well as wowing guests each night on the Starlight stage, the entertainer has also played a crucial part in Beverley’s fundraising efforts, raising more than £200,000 for charity to date.
Director of Beverley Holidays, Nicola Furneaux, said: “The boundless energy and loyalty Chris has shown during his many years at our holiday park is truly inspiring and he’ll be greatly missed by staff and guests alike.”
