The Director of the Paignton based group of holiday parks will join 50,000 other runners at the famous starting line on 23 April following months of gruelling training for the long-distance run.
Cheering her on at the side-lines will be family, friends, Beverley team members and guests alike who together have helped Katy raise £4,184 and counting for Cancer Research UK.
The charity total has been topped up through fun fundraising initiatives including a ‘Dash For Cash Challenge’ which saw Beverley team members sprint around the parks with a cash bucket.
The Beverley Holidays’ team have also been digging deep in their pockets and placing bets on Katy’s sprint finishing time in a 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon Sweepstake.
Beverley Holidays’ Director, Katy Lamsin, said: “I am very proud to have gained a place in this prestigious charity event and I am really excited but also nervous about stepping up to the legendary starting line later this month.
“There’s been plenty of sweat and tears over the last six month that I’ve been preparing for the 2017 London Marathon but the reason why I am doing this has really helped spur me on and will definitely get me to that finishing line.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me on my journey to raise lots of money for Cancer Research UK - a cause which has touched so many families, including my own, and let's help to find a cure for cancer.”
You can catch Katy, along with thousands of other Marathon runners, sweating it out on the streets of London as they take on the famous 26.2 mile route on Sunday 23 April.
