Top 5 Things To Do This November In South Devon

The sun may have set on Summer but November is a fabulous time to visit our seaside setting in Torbay.

With the scent of bonfires clinging in the air and a kaleidosccope of autumnal colours at every turn, there's plenty of reasons to book a break at Beverley Holidays this season, but here's 5 of our favourites…

1. Firework Season, Various Locations

'Remember, remember, the fifth of November, gunpowder, treason and plot'.

To mark the notorious gunpowder plot of 1605, the Torbay skies become alight with amazing fireworks and bonfire displays. Hot foot it to the The River Dart Country Park for its bonfire bonanza on Saturday 4 November or swing by Lupton House on Sunday 5 November to mark the annual Autumn event.

2. Christmas Fayre, Starlight Bar

The countdown to Christmas has well and truly begun and Galmpton Pre-School bring their annual Christmas Fayre to our very own Starlight Bar on Sunday 12 November between 11.15am-2.15pm.

There will be festive fun for the whole family including face painting and Christmas crafts, plus a chance to shop ‘til you drop among stalls selling homemade crafts and scrumptious winter warmers. Better still, there will even be a special appearance from Santa Claus himself.

International Agatha Christie Festival

3. Christmas Carnival Parade, Torquay

What plenty way to kickstart the festive season than by hopping on your sleigh and heading to the beautiful harbourside town of Torquay on Saturday 18 November for its magical Christmas Carnival Procession.

The carnival itself will begin at 4.30pm so make sure you get there in plenty of time to get a good viewing spot, and check out the Fleet Street Grotto while you're there and you might even get to meet the man of the moment - Santa himself.

4. Lights & Illuminations, Brixham

Just a hop, skip and a jump away from Beverley Holidays, the quaint fishing town of Brixham lights up the night sky with its annual Lanterns, Lights & Illumination Parade on Saturday 25 November.

Throughout the festive evening there's entertainment, warming food and a stunning fireworks display, but the highlight has to be the lantern parade which spread festive cheer among all those who see it.
