Arghh! It has come to that time of year again when Brixham harbour is taken over by pirates. In this magnificent three day event from Saturday to Monday, you’ll find plenty of music, street performers, shows, re-enactments and events, as well as a world record attempt! Brixham Pirate Festival is the perfect event for all of the family this Bank Holiday weekend with lots of noise from guns and cannons from the hundreds of pirates located around the Golden Hind. Saturday 2nd, Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th May 2015, 10am to 5pm.
The BMAD (Bikers Make A Difference) Festival is back on Paignton Green once again. The Green will be alive with live music, stunt shows, beer tents and stalls, alongside the hundreds of motorbikes from across the UK. All in the name of raising money for local charities, the festival will be enjoyed by all ages, whether they have an interest in motorbikes or not. Visit the band tent on Saturday 12.30pm to 1.30pm for ‘An Audience with Carl Fogarty’, 4 times former World Superbike Champion and winner of ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ (tickets sold separately). Friday 1st (6pm to 11pm), Saturday 2nd (10am to 11pm) and Sunday 3rd May 2015 (10am to 7pm).
On Saturday 2nd May, take a relaxing day trip to Dartmouth’s beautiful Spring Flower Festival. Taking place in The Royal Avenue Gardens, there will be refreshments, a tombola, floral art, scents and soaps. Lots of lovely plants will also be on sale to fill your gardens with memories of a great South Devon holiday. All funds raised will go towards a new pyramid community greenhouse. Why not treat your family this May Bank Holiday and travel there and back on the Paignton to Dartmouth Steam Train?
