Top Winter Wonders By The Beverley Team
The countdown to Christmas is well and truly underway here in the English Riviera, with festive lights being put up on every street corner and a flurry of Christmas markets taking place.
To help you get into the festive spirit, here’s a sneaky peek at what our Beverley Holidays Team consider to be the top winter wonders in Torbay in the run up to Christmas…
Our Oasis Team Member Dan loves to watch his nieces open their presents on Christmas morning, so to make sure his gifts bring a smile to their faces, he heads to one of the many nearby Christmas markets for great gifts. Taking place every Tuesday throughout December, Totnes Christmas Market has a range of stalls selling lovely local items, plus music, mince pies, mulled wine and local hot food stalls to feast on inbetween shopping.
Winter Beach Walks
Our Marketing Manager Caroline loves a winter beach walk in the run up to Christmas, when you can wrap up warm in cosy winter gear for a refreshing walk. Top places in Torbay to blow away those cobwebs with a brisk coastal walk include along one of the abundance of nearby beaches including Goodrington Sands and even the stunning Thatchers’ Rock – a great viewing point of our beautiful bay.
Babbacombe Model Village
Our Graphic Designer & Marketing Assistant Caroline’s favourite wintertime attraction is Babbacombe Model Village. Head down in the run up to Christmas and catch its wonderful display of magical winter Christmas scenes, plus there’s also a 6-minute 3D adventure through Santa’s workshop to enjoy. After a fun-packed day, Caroline also loves to retreat to its coffee shop for a warming hot toddy.
Beverley Holidays’ Senior Bar Supervisor, Jon, loves celebrating the festive season with a trip to a good old-fashioned Christmas Pantomime. The Princess Theatre plays host to a Panto every year, and this year’s top choice is Aladdin – Jon says it’s a fantastic way to get into the Christmas spirit – oh no it isn’t, oh yes it is!
Santa In The Caves
Kim from our Reception Team says her top winter wonder is Santa In The caves at Kents Cavern. She enjoys taking her grandchildren on the magical adventure through the pre-historic caves in its hour long show which includes a personal visit from the main man himself Santa, plus Christmas presents, mulled wine and mince pies – yummy!
Daryl our Entertainment Manager loves to jump aboard Santa’s Express – a truly magical journey by Dartmouth Steam Railway. Each carriage is decked out top to bottom in festive Christmas decoration and during your trip you will be entertained by a mini pantomime, plus Santa himself visits you at your seat with his band of merry helpers.
