But first, let us tell you why Chris and the Beverley Holidays Entertainment Team deserve to take the crown of our local ‘Fundraiser Of The Year’.

Many of you will know Chris as Beverley Holidays long-standing entertainer who has been wowing our crowds for more than 30 years as an original member of its resident band Jubilee.

Working alongside Chris are seven other multi-talented members that form the 2014 Beverley Holidays’ Entertainment Team, many of which have been working with our holiday park for many years.

Members of Beverley’s Entertainment Team from past and present have helped raise a staggering £195,000 from 1986 until today for our chosen national charity Cancer Research UK, together with a wealth of local charities including Rowcroft Hospice, Torbay Hospital and Macmillan Cancer Support UK, bringing the grand total to more than £200,000.

Chris and the Beverley Holidays’ Entertainment Team picked Cancer Research UK as its leading charity as it was a cause that struck a chord with many guests who holiday at our Paignton-based park year after year.

According to Chris: “Cancer has touched many of our guests, as well as some members of Beverley Holidays’ staff, so we wanted to choose a national charity that our customers would have a real affinity with.

“We have guests travelling from Scotland, Wales, Ireland and further afield, many of which have been effected by cancer at some point in their lives, and so by supporting a national charity such as Cancer Research UK we have had an excellent response.

Over the last 30 years, the holiday park’s in-house Entertainment Team have organised countless charity functions and events to raise funds for a number of worthy charities.

These have included a charity skydive from 15,000ft, charity runs from Beverley Holidays to Brixham, charity games, competitions, raffles, windscreen washing events and much more
