Local Highlights

The English Riviera is a fantastic place to enjoy the great outdoors with its vast open spaces and stunning sea views. Make the most of our seaside setting by heading along to one of our many favourite outdoor places to visit during your holiday. To manage numbers do remember that some of our more popular outdoor attractions will require you to pre-book.

Life’s A Beach

The English Riviera is undoubtable one of the best places to be in the country when it comes to incredible beaches. Many of which are just a short distance from our holiday park. Our nearby beaches include Goodrington Sands and Broadsands Beach which are great for hiring kayaks and paddleboards as well as the long stretch of Paignton Beach which offers the ultimate family day out at the seaside. It’s here where you can also find Pirate Bay Adventure Golf – a fantastic 18-hole mini golf course on Paignton Seafront.

Berry Head Nature Reserve

With its vast open spaces, Berry Head Nature Reserve is great for enjoying coastal walks and fantastic panoramic views across Torbay. Popular among dog walkers, this beautiful headland sits on 200 feet cliffs and is also well known for a wide range of wildlife spotting on land and sea.

Babbacombe Model Village

Feel like a giant with a visit the largest model village in Britain. Babbacombe Model Village is set within 4 acres of immaculately maintained gardens and features thousands of miniature people, buildings and vehicles making up hundreds of brilliant model scenes. There’s even a mini Paignton Zoo. It is recommended that you book in advance to reserve your arrival time which you can do by visiting the Babbacombe Model Village website.

Pennywell Farm

South West Coastal Path

Create your own walking adventure by following the South West coastal path. It is one of the great South Devon highlights to experience. You’ll find 22 miles of coastal path here stretching along the entire length of the English Riviera. The path passes through Brixham, Paignton, Torquay and Babbacombe. It’s a really great way to discover Devon’s beautiful bay where the views are not to be missed.

Babbacombe Downs

A short distance from Torquay harbour is Babbacombe Downs. It is the highest cliff top promenade in the country sitting around 300 feet above sea level. On a blue-sky day, the views will stretch right across to Portland Bill in Dorset. It’s an ideal spot for a picnic or for enjoying the classic seaside treat of fish and chips. Plus, here you can take a journey back in time on the Babbacombe Cliff Railway with a trip down to the Oddicombe Beach.

Parks & Gardens

Along with the stunning coastline, the area also has a great number of beautiful parks and gardens. These are full of exotic plants and the Torbay Palm of course. One of our favourites is Princess Gardens situated right along Torquay’s promenade. In the summer months you’ll also find the English Riviera Wheel as a brilliant backdrop.

Cockington Country Park

Just off from Torquay seafront, Cockington Country Park. It is packed with beautiful gardens, lakes and woodlands. The 460 acres of parkland surrounds the picture postcard Cockington village with its thatched cottages and rose gardens. The tea rooms here provide the perfect location for a cream tea. Horse and carts can often be seen transporting visitors around the grounds too.
