After two successful years, the English Riviera’s illuminated event is returning brighter than ever! This year brings an exciting addition—a brand-new Christmas market at Torre Abbey. Watch the Torbay skies sparkle with colour as Christmas approaches. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy some festive fun with a seaside staycation.
2. South Devon Train Of Lights
27 November – 30 December 2024
A must-do event on the Christmas calendar, the spectacular South Devon Train of Lights returns in all its twinkling glory. Hop aboard a vintage carriage adorned with thousands of lights and head off on an unforgettable journey starting in Paignton passing by fabulous festive displays before arriving in Dartmouth when the trains turns round and you experience the magic all over again.
3. Santa in the Caves
7 – 24th December 2024
Step into the stone age and join Santa and his friends for an interactive pantomine experience underground at Kents Cavern! Get caught up in the magic of Christmas with festive storytelling, sing-alongs and surprises. Plus each child will receive a wrapped gift and each adult will receive a warming mulled wine and mince pie!

As the saying goes ‘good things come in small packages’ and Babbacome Model Village is the perfect festive treat for little ones with its delightful miniature seasonal scenes. Join its tiny folk as they prepare for Christmas and have fun spotting miniature Santa’s and elves using the Christmas character spotter sheet. This day and night experience will bring seasonal cheer to all the family.
5. Brixham Seaside Santa Run
1 December 2024
This 3k charity fun run is hosted by Brixham Harriers and is perfect for both novice Santas or a more accomplished sleigh rider! Though, if running dressed as the big man himself doesn’t take your fancy, it’s certainly worth watching.
The event starts and finishes under the historical Old Brixham Fish Market on the harbour. With the Santas running out past the Golden Hind and around the beautiful old harbour, the halfway point is about three-quarters of the way down the breakwater before returning along the same route to the finish line. where you’ll receive a well-earned medal, and have a mince pie and warm drink waiting for you.
