If you’re itching to get away this May Half Term, you’d be hard pushed to find a better place to enjoy some much-deserved family time than Beverley Holidays. Situated in the heart of the English Riviera, we’re perfectly located for an endless array of award-winning attractions and events which begin to blossom back into life, while the longer days and balmy evenings serve up plenty of time for all the holiday action. Here’s a few of our favourite things to do in Torbay this May Half Term.

Splash into May Half Term

Our long-awaited Summer looks like it’s finally arrived, and what better way to soak up the sunshine than with a trip to our closest attraction Splashdown – the UK’s biggest outdoor waterpark! Open for May Half Term (opens from 3 May 2026), grab your flips flops and your swimmers for a fun-filled day out on the flumes which just so happen to overlook the beautiful seaside setting of Goodrington Sands.

Reach For The Sky

This May Half Term sees the Torbay skies once again play host to a spectacular airshow, with Beverley Holidays boasting a front-row seat thanks to our enviable views stretching across Torbay. Back by popular demand, the 32-day English Riviera Airshow (29-31 May 2026) includes stunning aerodynamic displays from the RAF Red Arrows and Typhoon Display Team, to name just a few, all against the backdrop of beautiful Torbay which acts as the perfect theatre for the high-flying action.

Brixham Heritage Sailing Regatta

The Brixham Heritage Sailing Regatta (22-24 May 2026) is a delightful celebration of maritime history set against the stunning backdrop of Torbay’s sparkling waters. Each year, beautifully restored classic vessels gather in the harbour, their tall masts and polished hulls recalling a rich seafaring past that is truly special to this part of Devon. Visitors can enjoy watching the graceful races, wander along the quay to admire the boats up close, and chat with friendly crews who are always happy to share stories about their craft.

Festival Fever For Our Geopark Gem

Did you know that Torbay is one of only two ‘urban’ geoparks in the UK? No, well the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark Festival (23 – 30 May 2026) is your chance to discover more through a series of events and activities across the Bay. From guided tours on beautiful Berry Head to a living fossil trail at Torre Abbey, find out why the area’s spectacular geology and natural environment makes it one of just 177 places around the world to be given this special Geopark status.
