Torre Abbey Sands is the main beach for Torquay. It is very popular with holidaymakers, day visitors and locals alike. This is a favourite spot for younger people staying in the area who also take the opportunity to use the grassy expanse of nearby Torre Abbey Meadows.
Be sure to check out the tide times before you visit as there is precious little sandy areas left at high tide. Because of this Torre Abbey Sands usually stays slightly wet. If you’re wanting to spend some time here sitting on the beach we recommend bringing something to sit on to avoid getting a damp backside!
There are toilets close by but not few other facilities on the beach however there are many close by. The area around the sands is enhanced with some nice restaurants and cafes. There are also tennis courts, two types of golf, lawn bowls and the abbey gardens. All surrounded by many mature palm trees. Enjoy the the great views all the way across Torbay as far as Brixham.
