A Day In The Life...
Here’s the winning entry to our ‘A Day In The Life’ Competition. Leanne Liddington from Gloucestershire bowled over the Beverley judges with her delightful review of a day out at the quaint setting of Cockington Court Country Park.
“Set just outside of Torquay in a very picturesque wooded area, the purpose of our visit to Cockington Court Country Park was….we were getting married! A secret wedding in a beautiful place while on holiday! Just the three of us. Oh, not forgetting two lovely ladies who agreed to be our witnesses.
We got married at 10.30am in a beautiful room overlooking the grounds and afterwards we had the rest of the day to explore the area and craft studios (after we had returned to our caravan to change into something more appropriate!)
The photographs of both our wedding, the rose garden and our day out in the grounds after were stunning.
We sampled some of the Cockington chocolate company’s chocolate and it is delicious, I highly recommend trying some. We looked around all the different crafty shops including a rocking horse maker which are daughter loved and wanted! The glass blowing is really interesting, and we bought ourselves a lucky horseshoe from the Blacksmith shop.
There are many lovely walks around lakes, woodlands and even hidden in amongst the trees is a gamekeepers cottage, you forget you are only a mile from the seafront.
This was a fantastic and memorable day for us. I would highly recommend a visit, there is something to do for all ages. After many years of visiting Torbay this was our first visit here but certainly will not be our last. Absolutely stunning place with lots to do and entry is completely free.”
