How To Holiday Sustainably

With the climate crisis being the hot topic of our times, we’ve put together some top tips on how to holiday sustainably during your stay at Beverley Holidays. The good news is, that going green on your next break will not only save you money, but it’s a great way to reconnect with nature and lend some support to the local economy. So get booking and let’s give Mother Nature something to smile about with a sustainable staycation by the seaside…

A Road Less Travelled

The great thing about holidaying in the UK is that you’ve already scored yourself some planet-pleasing points by omitting the need to fly. When it comes to getting away from it all, air travel is the biggest culprit in CO2 emissions, so a staycation on home soil is a great place to start for those seeking a holiday with a sustainable edge. Better still, ditch the car and give the train or coach a whirl – with our setting in the heart of the Torbay being easily reached by public transport. For those that have made the move to electric, we have 5 EV charging points so you can stay topped up throughout your stay without any harm to the environment.

Switch Off From It All

Holidays are all about switching off from everyday stresses so why not bring that same mentality to the way you holiday by ensuring you also switch off all the things we take for granted? From light switches to the kitchen tap, every little counts, and you’ll find friendly reminders throughout our parks to help you stay on track. Plus, plenty is being done behind the scenes to make your stay sustainable without any effort on your part, including the introduction of solar lights and water-saving devices. We’ve even added a brand-new cover to our outdoor pools to conserve heat and keep the water temperature nice and toasty.

Recycle & Re-use

We have taken the bold step at Beverley Holidays to be plastic-free by the end of 2024. Take a trip to one of our takeaways and you can already chow down on delicious local dishes served alongside plant-based, compostable cutlery and cardboard packaging, with not a plastic straw in sight. Plus, new for 2024, our Beach Toy Library comes full to the brim with pre-used paraphernalia perfect for days at the seaside. And while you’re sunning yourself on our sandy shores, why not do your very own little beach clean – a fun and informative activity for the small beach babes in your family?

Get Back To Nature

Nothing reminds you of the need to take care of our planet more than getting back to nature and seeing mother earth in all her glory. Here at Beverley Holidays, we are fortunate enough to boast some of the best sea views you’ll ever see, while our Grounds Team take great pride in ensuring the flora and fauna around our parks are nothing short of glorious all year round. We’ve even add a Minibeast Hotel and Bee Garden so that our insect friends can enjoy a much-deserved break, while our Den Building activity is a great way to get the kids outside and reconnecting with the natural environment.
