Simpler Recycling at Beverley
Recycling at Beverley Holidays: Making Green Choices Easier for Everyone
At Beverley Holidays, we believe that looking after our beautiful corner of Devon is part of the joy of staying with us. Protecting our environment, reducing waste, and championing sustainable practices are all part of our ongoing green initiative. This year, we’re taking even bigger steps to make recycling easier for guests and holiday home owners – and we’re inviting everyone to join us in making a positive difference.
A Simpler Way to Recycle at Beverley Holidays
You might have heard about the government’s new Simpler Recycling rules being introduced across England. It’s all part of creating a greener future and supporting a circular economy.
Thanks to our partnership with Biffa, experts in sustainable waste management, we’ve introduced an easy-to-use recycling system across the park. We’re upgrading and simplifing our signage, making it simple to do your bit while enjoying your holiday.
The new bins are for:
-
General Waste
-
Food Waste
-
Glass
-
Dry Mixed Recycling (paper, card, plastic, and metal all together)
By sorting your waste into the correct bins, you’re helping ensure more materials are recycled properly, turning waste into new products rather than it ending up in landfill.
Why It Matters
Separating waste makes a big difference:
-
More recycling, less rubbish: Biffa’s research shows that separating food waste alone has led to a 68% increase in recycling and a 34% rise in overall material recovery.
-
Lower carbon footprint: Recycling materials like glass and metals uses far less energy than producing new ones.
-
Protecting nature: Less landfill means less harm to our local wildlife and coastal beauty.
Simply by popping the right item in the right bin, you’re contributing to a cleaner, greener Devon.
Wider Green Initiatives at Beverley Holidays
Our new recycling system is just one part of Beverley Holidays’ bigger journey towards sustainability. Here’s what else we’re doing to protect the environment we love:
Solar-Powered Caravan
We’re proud to have introduced the UK’s first solar-powered caravan! Our Signature Eco caravan uses clean, renewable energy from the sun to power its facilities, offering guests a greener way to holiday without sacrificing any comfort.
Electric Vehicles
You might spot our electric vehicles zipping around the park. Switching to electric transport helps us cut down on carbon emissions and keep our park air cleaner for everyone to enjoy.
Reducing Single-Use Plastics
We’ve made real strides to cut out single-use plastics across the park:
-
No more plastic takeaway containers – we’ve switched to eco-friendly packaging.
-
Paper straws instead of plastic – small changes, big impact.
-
Plastic-free milk – on Beverley View, guests now enjoy milk in reusable glass bottle. These changes help us protect our coastline and oceans for future generations to enjoy.
Having made these changes we’re proud to be an official Plastic Free Champion.
How You Can Help
We’re making it as easy as possible for you to get involved during your stay – and every small action adds up.
Here’s how you can help:
-
Use the new bins correctly: Look for the clear signs and sort your waste into General Waste, Food Waste, Glass, or Dry Mixed Recycling.
-
Avoid single-use plastics: Bring a reusable water bottle or coffee cup where possible.
-
Save energy: Turn off lights and appliances when you’re not using them.
-
Shop local: Support our fantastic local food and drink suppliers – it reduces food miles and supports the Devon community.
If you’re a holiday home owner, setting up a small recycling station in your caravan or lodge is a fantastic idea. It’ll make sorting waste even easier for you and your guests.
New Signage and Bins
To make recycling even simpler, we’re rolling out new bins with easy-to-understand signage. Whether you’re disposing of an ice cream tub, a glass bottle, or your take away fish and chips box, you’ll know exactly where it should go. Look out for the bin stations around the park – they’re there to help!
We’ve worked hard to make the system clear and straightforward so that recycling can fit naturally into your holiday without any fuss.
A Special Visit from the BIFFA Waste Eater Truck!
We’re excited to announce that on Friday 23 May at 11am, we’ll be getting a special visit from the BIFFA Waste Eater Truck!
This eye-catching vehicle is designed to raise awareness about recycling and show how small changes can make a big impact.
Guests of all ages are welcome to come and see the truck, learn more about the recycling process, and find out what happens to waste after it leaves Beverley Holidays. It’s a fun and educational experience, especially for younger visitors who are the eco-champions of tomorrow!
Together, We Make a Difference
At Beverley Holidays, we’re passionate about providing memorable holidays while caring for our planet. Thanks to new initiatives like solar-powered caravans, electric vehicles, and reducing single-use plastics, we’re moving towards a greener future – and we couldn’t do it without the help of our guests and owners.
By sorting your rubbish, and making small eco-friendly choices during your stay, you become part of something bigger: protecting our stunning Devon coastline and countryside for future generations to enjoy.
