1. Susan Calman’s Grand Day Out

Channel 5

Scottish comedian Susan Calman returns to TV screens with her Grand Day Out series which sees her explore the English Riviera in her trusty vintage campervan. Available on Catch Up, she braves a drop down the steep Babbacombe Cliff Railway, running since 1926, as well as practicing her promenading skills along Princess Pier with a parasol.

Next up she heads to Dartmoor National Park where she learns about the local legends surround Hound Tor, before discovering what letterboxing entails. Describing the trip as ‘heaven’, Susan’s English Riviera adventure ends with her spotting dolphins in the glistening waters off the South West coast, and experiencing Devon’s very own answer to the “Orient Express” abroad the Dartmouth Steam Railway.

2. Joanna Lumley’s Home Sweet Home – Travels In My Own Land

ITV

Well known for her globe-trotting travels, actress and national treasure keeps things closer to home in her latest ITV series Joanna Lumley’s Home Sweet Home – Travels In My Own Land. Her first stop takes her to the dizzy heights of Dartmoor where she gets to witness a druid celebration of an ancient pagan feast.

Next up, she soaks up the rays on the English Riviera where despite visiting in October she is greeted with beautiful blue skies and The Bay’s famed balmy temperature.

The Absolutely Fabulous star didn’t stay at Beverley Holidays on this occasion but rather opted for our good friends at 25 Boutique B&B. Although there’s no doubt our hot tub lodges would have gone down a treat with the TV legend.

3. Fish Town

BBC One

Brixham

Just a short car or bus ride from Beverley Holidays is one of the UK’s oldest and busiest fishing ports – Brixham. A picture postcard town with a quaint arrangement of colourful fisherman cottages overlooking its glistening harbour, there’s no surprise that it caught the attention of BBC producers eager to film a documentary giving an insight into those that call it home.

Capturing the working lives of the residents of Brixham, Fish Town makes great viewing and fans of the fishing port will fall hook, line and sinker for its stunning seaside setting. Be sure to tune in and perhaps you might recognise a few of faces from the TV series next time you head to Brixham while on your Beverley Holidays stay.

Ready To Mingle

ITV

Torbay’s answer to Love Island hit TV screens last September but is still available on the ITV hub for those looking to get a dose of dating drama. Ready to Mingle was filmed in Torquay and hosted by comedian Kathryn Ryan.

The dating show follows a single girl as she searches for her perfect match among twelve male suitors who must compete for her affections.
